The primary mission of Forest Park Swim Club is to promote a healthy lifestyle through swim and sense of community while providing a safe family-friendly atmosphere.
Job Title: Head Lifeguard
Reports to: Personnel Director/President
Job Description:
Forest Park Swim Club is seeking a professional, responsible, and safety-minded Head Lifeguard. The main responsibilities are to ensure the safety of members and guests by preventing and responding to emergencies. Our swimmers are of various ages and skill levels. A typical day for the Head Lifeguard could include finding last-minute replacements, monitoring the pool deck during all events at the pool, and opening or closing duties for the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the lifeguard staff as needed
- Scheduling and payroll duties
- Supervise the people in the swimming pool to ensure their safety. In the event of an emergency, you can make corresponding professional first aid and treatment. You can understand the simple method of dressing and treating wounds, and you can carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation first aid.
- Ability to communicate the safety regulations of the facility to customers
- Ability to provide emergency care to clients before emergency medical services arrive
- Make sure to contact EMS or other medical services in the most appropriate way to respond to emergency situations when necessary
- Always show a professional image and attitude and maintain a high standard of customer service
- If necessary, complete the accident information form
- The swimming pool needs to be cleaned and maintained according to the instructions to ensure that the venue is clean and the water quality is good
- Duties related to opening and closing the facility
- Need to participate in training and meetings required by all staff
Job Requirement:
- 1 – 2 years of lifeguard experience minimum
- Consistent attendance and performance are a must
- Certification in Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid (required)
- AED certification is preferred but not required
- Previous management experience is preferred but not required
